It's a little crazy around here right now, with several hundred kits that have to be packaged by the first of March, plus getting ready for our March 2-4 spring retreat in Branson. However, we did receive some shipments today at Scrapbook Generation that I want to tell you about.

Doodlebug: 12x12 reversible polka dot albums in six bright colors -- seriously cute!

Prima: over 40 bottles of flowers, both the small ones and daisies -- several combinations that we haven't carried before.

Other: new supplies of the All My Memories totes, chalk ink, Doodlebug mini-brads, and much more.

We're also expecting a huge shipment from Reminisce that I think will arrive Friday -- all their CHA winter collections, including St. Pat's, Easter, music, "Sports Chick," and more.

Our fourth in the series of free Saturday Seminars is set for this weekend, and as I've mentioned before, all 70 spots are full, and we have a waiting list. If you are signed up and can't attend, please call and let us know so that we can contact others in time.

Saturday was another great day for us at Scrapbook Generation, with almost all of the 70 people signed up for the Saturday Seminar braving the freezing temperatures, snow flurries, and other weather nastiness to attend.

We talked about how patterned paper is versatile enough to be used in other ways besides as a background. I hope that everyone is now looking at their paper in new ways, and as a possible accent on a page, not necessarily the "main attraction."

This next Saturday is the last in our series of four free seminars in February, and all 70 spots are totally booked. I've saved the best for last -- we'll be working with Prima flowers! You can call and get on the waiting list, and if someone can't make it, we hope that they'll be kind enough to call and let us know so that we can work others of you in.

For those of you who are waiting on Remember Me Club materials, I just wanted to let you know that I'm on the phone almost daily with K & Company, trying to find out when our shipment will arrive. I've been explaining that we're trying to refresh our supply so we can get kits to the latest people who have signed up. We evidently picked their most popular album ever, because they said they've sold over a million of the Hannah album, and are expecting a new supply this week. I'm hoping to be able to have the items to you by the end of this week or the first of next week!

I've been home the past couple of days working on the third Remember Me Club kit, and a sporty group from Flair arrived at Scrapbook Generation while I was gone. There are papers and cardstock stickers for basketball, baseball, football, and soccer, plus some additional coordinating papers.

Stacey has also been busy re-working our Bazzill cardstock selection. We've just added over 40 new colors and have opened up spots to add 40-50 more new colors, so right now part of the rows look very healthy, and other rows look a little sad. Each Bazzill cardstock bin is now labeled with a swatch of the cardstock and the color name. It will help me when it's time to place an order, and will help you when you shop! The additional new colors should be arriving in the next few weeks.

We have also finished notifying all the winners of our Superbowl Sunday give-a-way, and are ready to announce their names! Congratulations to all the winners.

-- Remember Me Club membership -- Karon Rapp, Aurora
-- Making Memories pink rolling tote -- Debbie Reece, Marshfield
-- Scrapbook Generation page kits -- Kodi Logan, Springfield; Georgia Turner, Springfield; Amy Ritz, Nixa; Audrey Barclay, Battlefield; and Michelle Kelley, Battlefield.

Love Affair is the name of the cute new pink, red, blue and green group Scrapbook Generation received from Li'l Davis today. There are papers, matching chipboard borders, shapes, and letter sets. The shipment also included their version of "raw" chipboard, called Stripped Chip. We have several packages of shapes, including tags, flowers, swirls, photo corners and more.

I also have an exciting announcement to make -- over the weekend, we enrolled the 80th person in the Remember Me Club! Now I've set my sights on 100 members, and that goal seems attainable!

Those of you who join the Remember Me Club in February have two options -- you can choose to "catch up" with the original group and complete your album in December, or you can go on your own schedule and finish 12 months from now. To join, the first payment is $29.99, and that gets you a K & Company album and the first page kit. After that, there are 11 months of page kits, each priced at $12.99.

The Remember Me Club is explained in greater detail on our website, scrapbookgeneration.com, and you can also stop by or call and we'll be more than happy to explain everything to you.

Tuesday, we're expecting a shipment of Bazzill cardstock, and it will include over 40 new colors we're adding to our selection! The new colors are in the pinks, reds, oranges, yellows, and greens. In a few weeks, we'll also be adding about 40 new colors in the purples, blues, browns, and other neutrals. We're also working on a way to label the cardstock bins with the color names so that it will be easier for you to shop for specific Bazzill colors.

Saturday Seminar #2 is officially over, and was a huge success! I just finished teaching seven consecutive 45-minute classes, beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. (I did manage to run in the office for five minutes and devour a slice of pizza!) We had 70 people signed up, and almost every single one showed up to learn a new inking technique, a new way to use decorative scissors, and a new tool -- the Crop-o-dile.

Next Saturday, we learning how to combine patterned papers in a pleasing way. All seven sessions are full at this time, but we can put your name on a waiting list in case someone calls and cancels. The Saturday after that, we're working with Prima flowers, and those sessions are also full, but you can also go the waiting list route if you want to.

To all those who attended today and last Saturday, thanks so much for being so nice, and for being so enthusiastic about this great hobby of scrapbooking. Although I'm tired, I've had a great time getting to know you better. See you next week!

Expected arrival this week: some cool Valentine themed chipboard sets by Li'l Davis. There are borders, shapes, letters, and more.

Cosmo Cricket has arrived! Two great collections, Wanted and Souvenir, are now available at Scrapbook Generation. There are beautiful papers, including a clever strip page with quotes and titles on one side, die cuts, and huge packs of matching chipboard letters.

For our free Saturday Seminar tomorrow, On the Edge, we had 70 available spaces, and we have five spots left. There is one available opening at 10 a.m., and four openings at 4 p.m. Just call 417-886-0440 and register if you are interested. We will spend about 45 minutes learning a variety of new techniques and skills, including several new and "old" tools. Each participant leaves with a completed double 6x6 layout, and everything is provided, even adhesives!

One of the ladies who attended the seminar last week sent this email to us: "Thank you for having these classes. I learned several new things. I was inspired! Sometimes I see pages that are beautiful, but seem overwhelming, but once I take a class I get excited and learn I too, can do this! Love your store."

Her note made my day!

I've been gone a couple of days, and when I walked in this morning Allison showed me the most beautiful array of pages I've ever seen. You have to realize that I'm her mother, but Allison has really outdone herself this time. The layouts she submitted this week to the Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame contest are just out of this world, and I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite. The journaling is touching, the designs are outstanding, and her unique stitching adds just the right touch of style.

Allison entered the contest last year, and her pages were really good, but over the 12 months between the two competitions, she has found her own signature style. She's hoping for an honorable mention, but I think she deserves the big prize!

While I was gone, we received a shipment from Deluxe Designs, a company that is going out of business soon. I tried to stock up on several of their more popular items, including the following: 12x12 color blocking templates, card templates, tag templates, idea books for colorblocking and tags, Plain Jane chipboard shapes, stickers, word tags, and more. I don't expect to be able to get any of these items again.

On Friday, we'll be receiving two great collections (Wanted and Souvenir) from Cosmo Cricket, including papers, die cuts, and chipboard letters.

Because of the demand, we are adding a third new session to our remaining free Saturday Seminars. The sessions at 10, 11, noon, 1, 2, and 3 are all full. On February 10, 17, and 24, we will now also have a 4 p.m. class. That brings the total of classes to seven each Saturday! If you are interested, my best advice is to call early!

Saturday, February 03, 2007

Don't forget Scrapbook Generation's third annual Superbowl Sunday Sale! We'll be open from noon until 6 p.m. tomorrow, and everything (EVERYTHING) in the store is 20% off! We're also giving away some great prizes, including a Remember Me Club membership, a Making Memories pink rolling tote, and five Scrapbook Generation page kits.

Whatever you purchase at the sale helps us make room for all the new Winter CHA goodies, like the four new BasicGrey collections, that are ordered and on the way.

And if you want to know how the first of the four free Saturday Seminars went, it was a huge success. We had 60 people enrolled in six sessions, and 58 braved the frigid temperatures to learn about turning raw chipboard into a great embellishment. Next Saturday, we're going to learn several tool-type techniques in a class called On the Edge.
