As conditions have continued to deteriorate, we've been keeping the phone lines hot trying to decide what to do about our scheduled activities on Saturday. Here's the latest plan.

-- Scrapbook Generation will be open on Saturday.
-- The Allison Davis sketch sessions will be held.
-- However, we don't want any of you who are signed up to feel like you have to get out in this mess, so we have Plan B! Those of you who can't make it on Saturday can come by SG between 11 am and 6 pm on either Tuesday or Wednesday for the sketch sessions. We'll have everything ready for you and you can name your own time! And if you can't come in either of those two days, we'll be happy to make a kit for you.

This has turned out to be an absolutely beautiful layout...the yellows and greens of the BasicGrey's Origins collections are stunning. That said, we definitely don't want anyone to take any chances of wrecks or falls on Saturday. So before you decide to head our way, please be sure that you can do so safely!
We're officially closed for the rest of the day Friday. Karin was there for about 3 hours, but since it is getting worse in Springfield, we made the decision to shut down, which means the Midnight Madness crop for tonight will not be held. Karin has called everyone, so at least we won't be worrying about anyone getting out and finding that out the hard way!

Here in Mansfield, we have no ice, and probably less than an inch of snow. Guess you guys in the city have more to deal with!

As for Saturday, Scrapbook Generation will be open, and all of the sketch sessions will be held as usual. Of course, if you think you shouldn't get out, we completely understand.

S0unds like the wintery weather won't arrive in Springfield until about 10 tonight, so Allison's Tim Holtz Techniques class is on! See you at SG!

Looks like we'll be playing the weather guessing game the next few days! With a class set for Thursday night, a Midnight Madness crop set for Friday night, and sketch sessions on Saturday, you can be sure that we're watching the forecasts with great interest.

If the weather does what they are predicting, before you set out to attend any of these activities, please be sure and call to make sure we are open. We will also announce here and on Facebook if we are rescheduling any of the above events, and try to call everyone if we are able to.

We obviously lose revenue when we have to close, but it is always a priority for me that my family doesn't have to take risks on dangerous roads for us to be open. It's just not that important. And I don't want any of you taking risks either! We can always reschedule classes and events.

We have a great layout planned for this Saturday's Allison Davis free sketch sessions at Scrapbook Generation! We'll be using the beautiful papers from BasicGrey's Origins collection, and trying to think spring during this spell of cold weather! You'll make a two-page layout using a sketch of one of Allison's layouts, and the cost of the papers will be less than $4. Amazing!

To sign up for one of the sessions at 10, 11:30, 1, or 2:30, just stop by SG or give us a call at 417-886-0440. And as always, if you don't like the papers we've selected, just choose your own here at the store. We always love to see variations, because it never fails to prove that no matter what papers you use, using the sketch means you're going to have a great-looking layout.

Check out the Allison Davis blog for a special series of her layouts and sketches...
Also, if you want to see some awesome blog posts about sketches and how to alter them, Allison is running a four-day series on her blog. She has posted one of her sketches, and so far, has shown two layouts she has made using the sketches. The layouts are amazing, as always, and she has written detailed information about how she has created each of them. And you have to see the cute pumpkins she has created as embellishments! There is a link to her blog on the right sidebar. (And the best part...she's got something to give away at the end of the series! Leave a comment for a chance to win.)
