National Scrapbooking Day, Saturday, May 7...
• The Super-Saver sessions are nearly filled. There are four spots left in the 11:30 and 2:30 sessions, and a handful in the 1 pm session. And don't forget that you get a free gift for attending one of the sessions, and two punches on your Studio G Reward Card! If you want one of the last few remaining spots, just call us at 417-886-0440 -- it's only $9 to make three double-page layouts!

• We'll be putting out lots of new paper collections next week for Saturday's big festivities! Right now, we're buried under boxes and stacks of paper and other goodies. Keep watching here for photos of the new groups and items (think Maya Road; American Crafts; SEI; Pink Paislee; Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker; Echo Park; 7Gypsies; Fancy Pants; Girls' Paperie; Bella Blvd; K & Company; We R Memory Keepers; Paper Loft; and so much more!).

• We're also rounding up lots of other products that we'll be putting on sale on National Scrapbooking Day. Expect lots of goodies by big-name companies at 30, 40, and even 50% off as we make room for all the new merchandise!

New company...Bottle Cap, Inc.
We have a selection of products from a new company -- Bottle Cap, Inc. As the name implies, this company is all about bottle caps and ways to embellish them. Great for vintage projects because of their 3-D nature, the bottle caps and decorative circles and epoxy inserts are a fun new product for us.

Bottle Cap, Inc. -- a selection of digital images, epoxy inserts, and bottle caps in gold, silver, black, and two shades of vintage distressed.
We have the latest from My Mind's Eye...
It's always one of my favorite days...seeing all the latest collections from My Mind's Eye in place on our shelves! As usual, this company has hit a home run. The largest grouping, Lime Twist, follows the successful format of offering four colorways -- two for girls and two for boys. The addition of matching twine is a good choice, because this is a hot product at the moment.

My personal favorite is the American Made collection! Last year, there was very little to choose from in the patriotic category. This year, My Mind's Eye weighs in with a great group. (In a few days, we'll also be showing you the red, white and blue group from We R Memory Keepers, and later, from BoBunny.)

If you need birthday papers, the Hip-Hooray collections are really cute as well -- so colorful and cheerful -- just like birthdays should be!

"Lime Twist" by My Mind's Eye -- four gorgeous color combinations, and all the fun stuff to go with them. You'll love the packs of matching "baker's twine."

"American Made" by My Mind's Eye -- maybe they DID listen to my request to make a patriotic group!

"Hip-Horray" by My Mind's Eye -- birthday collections in two great color combos.

Join us and make three cute layouts on
National Scrapbooking Day, Saturday May 7...

National Scrapbooking Day will be here before we know it! The photos above are the three layouts we'll be making that day in our "Super-Saver Scrapbooking" sessions. Two of the layouts are birthday themed and one is more general. Fee to make all three layouts is an unbelievable $9!

And had we told you that everyone who attends and participates in one of the Super-Saver sessions gets a free gift?  What would NSD be without a few surprises!

There are sessions at 10, 11:30, 1, or 2:30. This allows for 128 people to participate here at SG, and because this is a special event with large numbers of people in attendance, no kits will be available (unless you are already a member of SG's Super Sketch Club). As an added NSD bonus, you'll get two punches on your Studio G Reward Card, instead of the usual one punch.

Only a handful of the Super-Saver spots are still available in the 11:30, 1, and 2:30 sessions. If you are planning to attend, please register as soon as possible by calling 417-886-0440.

Other special activities on NSD include two free mini-classes from 10 am until 4 pm, drawings for door prizes, a chocolate buffet, and best of all, spending rewards, a new program for us.

• Level One: Spend $25 and receive a $5 gift card to be used on a future purchase in May, June or July.
• Level Two: Spend $50 and receive a $10 gift card to be used on a future purchase in May, June or July.
• Level Three: Spend $75 and receive a $15 gift card to be used on a future purchase in May, June or July.
• Level Four: Spend $100 and receive a $20 gift card to be used on a future purchase in May, June or July.

Super Sketch Club members: Yes, materials for the three layouts shown above will be included in your May kit!

Come spend the weekend with one of the country's hottest vintage paper artists...Tammy Tutterow!

Above, photos of her Friday, April 29 class, “Home Is” framed collage. The fee for the 6 pm class is $30. The collage features vintage elements, stamping, inking, decoupaging; it's a multi-media masterpiece! A few spots are still available. Please call 417-886-0440 to register.

Supply list for class members:  Tim Holtz sanding block, vintage photo Distress Ink (or other brown distress ink color of choice), ink blending tool with foam, Ranger craft sheet, adhesive foam squares, clear quick dry glue like ZipDry. (If you don't have all of these products, we'll have them available for purchase Friday evening.)

Above, Tammy's project for Saturday, April 30, the  “Made From Scratch” binder album. The fee for the 10 am class is $40. The binder album features Pink Paislee "Butterfly Garden" papers and embellishments, Wendy Vecchi's new Art Parts, and Tim Holtz Idea-ology items. There are lots of interactive elements and templates for pockets and envelopes. (Only two of the 30 spots remain -- to register, please call 417-886-0440.)

In order to feature all the new techniques and products involved, this is a lengthy class, at least four hours. There will be a short lunch break at noon, and you can bring a lunch or have something delivered to SG. Class fee is $40.

Supply list for class members:  Favorite brown Distress Ink pad, ink applicator tool with foam pad,  Ranger craft sheet, favorite dry and wet adhesives, adhesive foam squares, tiny attacher or stapler, ruler, pencil, paper trimmer, paper piercer, scissors, hole punch (or Crop-a-dile).  (If you don't have all of these products, we'll have them available for purchase Friday evening.)

Timeless Treasures class for Thursday...

I hope you can join me Thursday for the monthly "Timeless Treasures" class. I play the piano, and loved this paper group the minute I saw it! I had the best time working with this music-themed vintage paper and die-cuts. It doesn't show all that well in the photo, but I used hand-stitching to accent the keyboard. We'll also use my favorite type of border punches -- the ones that form chains -- to make the decorative border, and alcohol ink to make the jewels just the right shade of vintage brown.

The class will be held two times on Thursday -- at 2 pm and at 6 pm. Fee is $15, and teacher is Debbie Sanders.

Popular class...it's sold-out!

Only a few spots are still available for a full day of cropping in Studio G. Call 417-886-0440 to register.
• April Super Sketch Club kits
We start packing this kit today, and with the huge numbers of new club members, it will take us most of the week. (To keep up with the demand from scrapbookers all over the country, we finally broke down and admitted the four of us SG gals needed help! We've added a part-time employee to help with packing and shipping.) We hope to get these kits shipped by the end of the week!

Living a charmed life!
I'll have to say that the interest in Scrapbook Generation on a national scale just has us smiling constantly. For quite some time now, the chatter on a couple of message boards has been steady and strong, and in addition to being flattering beyond words, it's also been an enormous lift to our business. We're packing and shipping on a daily basis!

Our series of sketch books, and most recently, our Super Sketch Club, are almost constantly being inquired about, critiqued, and recommended. We're so fortunate that the scrapbookers on these sites have been so complimentary and helpful to others who have questions about SG products.

And that's not all!

For the past few weeks, people on Two Peas in a Bucket have been talking about making a road trip to the June Scrap-a-Palooza. Many of them have already purchased tickets! We're checking into getting a good hotel rate for them, and we're in the planning stages of putting together a special event on the Friday night before Palooza, so they can meet each other and also get to check out SG.

Now, the gals on the Willow Traders message board are starting to chatter about making a trip to one of our fall retreats in Branson! If they decide to join us, we'll do the same -- plan a special pre-retreat event here at SG to welcome them to the Ozarks! (Willow Traders started off as a message board devoted to kits, but they also discuss general scrapbooking topics. I spoke to the owner of the site this week, and learned a little more about what the message board is all about!)

Anyway, we can't say enough nice things about all the people at both places who sing our praises. That's the best publicity in the world, and can't be purchased at any price.

Allison Davis free sketch sessions layout for Saturday...
We love My Mind's Eye around here, and Allison has created a layout that showcases one of the latest Stella and Rose collections for this Saturday's sketch sessions. It's also one of those great sketches that allow you to fit lots of photos on the page with little cropping involved!

Fun activities ahead at SG...
• "Tim Holtz Distress Inks" free class with Candy Colwell
Thursday, April 14
Join us at 6 pm this Thursday, April 14 as vintage expert Candy Colwell shows you how to transform anything, no matter how new, into a vintage treasure. Candy will demonstrate the many ways to use the popular Distress Inks by Tim Holtz. Following the demo, you'll be able to have "play time" with the inks. You won't make a specific project, just play and learn. In addition, Candy has an extensive hand-out of distress ink techniques that she'll share with those of you who attend the demonstration.
• Studio G "No Frills" crop
Saturday, April 23
Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 23 for our second all-day Saturday crop in our new classroom. We had a full house of 26 people for the first crop! The fee for the seven hours of cropping is $5, and you get 10% off your purchases. Bring your own snacks and drinks, and bring a lunch, go out for lunch, or feel free to order in sandwiches or pizza.

Time to think about National Scrapbooking Day...
(and May's 'Super-Saver Scrapbooking' sessions!)

Since National Scrapbooking Day (May 7) is rapidly approaching, we wanted to let you see the three layouts we'll be making that day in our "Super-Saver Scrapbooking" sessions. Two of the layouts are birthday themed and one is more general. Fee to make all three layouts is an unbelievable $9!

You can sign up for sessions at 10, 11:30, 1, or 2:30. As an added NSD bonus, you'll get two punches on your Studio G Reward Card, instead of the usual one punch.

Since the newsletter went out a couple of weeks ago, we already have filled almost half of the available spots, so if you are planning to attend, please register as soon as possible by calling 417-886-0440.

Other special activities on NSD include two free mini-classes, drawings for door prizes, a chocolate buffet, and best of all, spending rewards, a new program for us.

Tim Holtz distress stain has arrived...
Another way to distress! We now have all 12 colors of the new Tim Holtz distress stain by Ranger.

Doodlebug Create-a-Card is here!

Talk about a cheerful rainbow of color...Doodlebug's new Create-a-Card display has certainly brightened Scrapbook Generation. There are eight styles of cards and matching envelopes in nine colors, providing 72 choices (if my math is right!). The cards are each a mix of solids and light patterns, and the matching envelopes have decorative openings like scallops or bracket shapes. Many of the card styles are also tri-folds, so that provides even more fun options.

There are many great things about these cards and envelopes, including the price of 75 cents each, which makes them much more affordable than purchased cards. Since the cards already have decorative features, they can be used with no decoration, but on the other hand, they give you a blank canvas with which to design your own unique creation.

And since all the other Doodlebug products we carry automatically coordinate with the cards, it's easy to make a cute card...quickly! Think cardstock letter stickers, mini-brads, paper frills, and more!

We'll try to keep 12-24 of each design in stock, but if you need a larger quantity for a special event, we'll be happy to order them for you.

Wrong title!
Instead of "oh so happy to have you," I'm renaming this layout "oh so happy to have you done!" I started working on this about 10 am, and just now finished. I absolutely loved this paper collection the moment I saw it, and I struggled all day making what I considered a "worthy" page. Anyway, it's all finished now, and just waiting for you on Saturday.

We'll be making the layout above in the Debbie Sanders free sketch sessions this Saturday. Your cost to make this layout? Only about $5! Just call us at 417-886-0440 to register for a session at 10 am or 2:30 pm on Saturday, April 9. Bring basic tools, and we'll provide you with a free computer sketch that you can use over and over!

And don't forget, we'll punch your Studio G Reward Card. Don't have one yet? No problem, we'll be happy to get you started on the way to earning some great rewards like free page kits, $20 gift cards, and other goodies!

If you want a kit, the fee is $5, and is due at the time the request is made.

Super Sketch Club members:
Yes, this layout and sketch will be included in your April kit!
Tammy Tutterow's Saturday class...
FYI: We only have eight of the 30 spots left for Tammy Tutterow's "Made From Scratch" binder album class on Saturday, April 30. Just wanted to let you know so you don't get left out of the fun! It's a gorgeous project.

Scrapbook Generation's Grand Re-opening...
Thank you to the hundreds of shoppers who stopped by Scrapbook Generation on Saturday to help us celebrate our move to a new building. We had a wonderful time, and hope you did, too! Here's what parts of the day looked like...

Prize baskets donated by American Crafts, We R Memory Keepers, My Mind's Eye, Pink Paislee, and BasicGrey just waiting to be claimed by five lucky "golden ticket" winners.

Gourmet mini-cupcakes by Laura Parks and Allison Davis made the snack buffet a popular place to hang out.

The crowd gathers in anticipation of the doors opening at 9 am.

Our new retail space holds lots of merchandise, and lots of shoppers, without seeming crowded.

My husband Don pitched in last week to help us get ready by packing literally thousands of kits. He also was an official greeter and goodie bag ticket distributor on Saturday.

Stacey Atchley at one of the four checkout areas in the new building.

Allison Davis also worked one of the cash registers at our grand re-opening.

Our new 32-seat classroom is the icing on the cake. We had 160 people participating in the Super-Saver classes, in five sessions.

Drew Curtis can't hide the fact that he had a cupcake!

We couldn't have made it through the day without (from left) Katrina Hunt, Karen Taylor, and Laura Parks. Katrina and Karen taught free mini-classes all day, and Laura did a little bit of everything, from restocking the buffet to helping with the Super Saver sessions.

Glad we have enough room now for Kassie Jarvis and Diana Boggs to get comfortable while paper shopping.

Karin Rush and Jeremy Atchley kept registers one and two hopping most of the day.

Thanks so much for stopping by on Saturday to help us celebrate our move to a large store!
