Saturday should be sweet!

We hope you can join us and make these three layouts Saturday, February 2 in the Debbie Sanders Super-Saver Scrapbooking sessions at Scrapbook Generation. As always, your cost to make these three layouts at SG is an amazing $9. And because all the banners are die-cuts, these layouts are extra easy!

Give us a call at 417-886-0440 to register and pre-pay. Sessions will be held at 10am and 2pm. (From now on, we're starting the afternoon session 30 minutes earlier so that everyone has enough time to finish before the store closes at 5.)

Super Sketch Club members:
Yes, materials for these three layouts will be included in your February kit!

KITS:
• All kits must be requested before the class activities take place on Saturday.
• The fee for a kit is $10, and is due at the time the request is made.
• If you need the kit shipped to you, the shipping charge is an additional $5.99.
The best deal for our long-distance customers? Join the monthly Super Sketch Club and get this kit, the Sketch Day One layout kit, and the Sketch Day Two layout kit (includes materials and sketches for five double-page layouts, plus two bonus double-page sketches) for $20 plus $6.99 shipping.

Scrap-a-Palooza problem

Several of you have contacted us when you received an email a couple of days ago showing another event advertised at Remington's on the date we have been publicizing for Scrap-a-Palooza. We can't thank you enough for that information, because it was news -- bad news -- for us.

We contacted Chris Louzader of Midwest Family Broadcasting. Chris sets the dates and books the venue for the event. She was unaware of the situation, and started immediately working to resolve it. Geoff at Remington's quickly admitted that the mistake was his and also started working to resolve the problem.

We have been getting updates from Chris since yesterday, and the latest one today came with the information that Scrap-a-Palooza will NOT be the event at Remington's on March 2. A garage sale will be held there instead.

I considered waiting until the situation is resolved to announce this, but I didn't want anyone to make any further travel plans or work-related plans in the next few days without knowing what is going on. I'm aware that many of you have already taken off work, and have even booked flights, including one group we know of that is coming from California. Please don't panic just yet. Chris is trying to find an alternative location.

Here's what we know for sure:
• We won't be holding Scrap-a-Palooza at Remington's on March 2.
• Chris is looking for a suitable alternate location in Springfield to hold Scrap-a-Palooza on a one-time basis on March 2.

So, bottom line, if you have already purchased your ticket or made work or travel plans, please just hang in there. If you haven't made any plans or purchased tickets, please wait a couple of days until we have more information for you. We're doing everything we can to keep everyone happy.

One step closer...

We're one step closer to having a completed sketch book: Scrapbook Generation's Sketch Fusion with Simple Stories! Yesterday, Allison and I brought our 24 finished layouts to SG -- the first time everything has been in one place. We arranged them in the order they'll be in the book, and we're so pleased with the way the project has come together. You can see hints of what the layouts are like by checking out the collage above.

We didn't start with any pre-arranged limits, other than to divide up the Simple Stories collections and decide how many layouts each of us would do from each group. As it turned out, my layouts have mainly uncropped photos and handwritten journaling, and Allison's primarily have more photos and computer journaling. Couldn't have worked out any better to give you a good mix of our styles!

The papers from the three new collections -- Vintage Bliss, 24/Seven, and Urban Traveler -- were a delight to work with. We also included several "older" collections, like Take A Hike, Sn@p, Handmade Holiday, and Harvest Lane.

What is great about the layouts, and the reason we chose to partner with Simple Stories for this concept, is that you can so easily replace what we've done with ANY Simple Stories collection, because they use the same format of blocks and strips with each group. This will be one of the most versatile sketch books we've designed.

What's ahead:
• Stacey is finishing up the design of the color pages and they'll be headed to the printer in a day or two. We had originally planned to include six color pages with four layouts each, but decided to go with eight color pages with three layouts each, so that one of the layouts on each spread could be really large. It looks great that way!
• Allison and I are completing the sketches, and after some editing to make them uniform, they'll be heading to the printer in a few days also.
• We plan to coordinate the release of Sketch Fusion with Simple Stories with the release of their three new collections. Right now, that's looking like late February or early March.
• Soon, we will be taking pre-orders for the print version of the book.
• The ebook will be released at the same time as the print book.

What you can do:
• We are thankful for everyone who orders the books directly from us, but we also love to sell the books wholesale to other scrapbook stores. Asking your LSS to carry the new book (and our 13 current books) would be much appreciated.

Nice problem to have!

Lindsey has a lovely set of cards ready for a Valentine class in February, but while I was gone for the weekend, the class filled up before I could even get the photos on the blog!

Since we've made the change to having the card class on Saturday, Lindsey's classes have really grown. The Valentine class is going to be early in the month so that people can have the cards before Valentine's Day, but after this, we're planning to let Lindsey take over the fourth Saturday of the month for her card classes. They've grown too large for us to do them at the same time as our other Saturday classes!

Keep calm and SSC on!

A few Super Sketch Club members are still slightly confused about club changes, and that's my fault for not explaining things more clearly.

If you are a Super Sketch Club member...
-- Your January club will follow the same format as your December club.
-- Materials are the same.
-- Three parts are the same (one with three layouts, one with one layout, one with one layout.)
-- Price is the same.
-- Two FREE additional bonus sketches will be included (without you having to do anything.)

Nothing changes unless you want it to.

If you want changes...
-- You can choose to get duplicate papers.
-- You can choose to get an embellishment (which is NOT used on the sample layouts.)
-- These options are available in the online store at scrapbookgeneration.com.

For your convenience...

Sometimes we change things!

After Stacey and Karin spent yesterday flooded with emails and phone calls from people who want to upgrade their Super Sketch Club membership to the Double Up plan, they decided it would be much better for everyone if this option were available in our online store.

Hopefully, this will make it easier for everyone! Just make sure when you sign up online (and you only have to do this once!) that you are aware that choosing this option means that your club fee will be $30 each month instead of $20. This is something you only need to do once!

Thanks for being patient with us as we work out all the kinks in this new system. Sometimes we are definitely a work in progress!

Behind the scenes...

I'm loving all the compliments Allison (who created the beautiful layout for the book cover) and I are getting over the new Sketch Fusion book, but there are others involved in this project that I want to mention.

We were on a pretty tight time schedule to get the cover done for catalogs and publicity. Allison -- who luckily works well under pressure -- created the layout with the new 24/Seven collection. Once that was completed, we turned everything over to Stacey, who designed the cover of my dreams! She did what I think is a perfect job of changing the style of our covers to meet our new focus. She really has a talent for design, and I appreciate that she can make our ideas and concepts come to life on the printed page.

For three weeks now, with the holidays right in the middle of everything, Allison and I have been working on nothing but our regular club kits and Sketch Fusion. And we're not through yet! During all this time, Karin and Stacey, along with Lindsey, have kept the store running, which has allowed us the time we needed without other responsibilities. Without them making sure that we were kept free of other pressures, there is no way we would be this far along with the book.

If there were ever a group project by SG, Sketch Fusion is it. Thanks to Stacey and Karin and Lindsey for working so hard behind the scenes to make it all possible!

Urban Traveler...

The third new collection by Simple Stories, Urban Traveler, is what many of us have been looking for -- a travel collection with lively, vivid, bright, fun colors. It works for cruises, road trips, city travel, and even just general boy pages. Having already seen it in person and made layouts with it, I can tell you that it is such a welcome change from dark and muted travel papers. I love it, and I know you will, too!

Our bundle idea for combining the new Simple Stories collections with the new Scrapbook Generation's Sketch Fusion with Simple Stories print book and e-book in discounted packages through our online store has been so well-received that we're going to expand the options. We're waiting on a complete price list, then once we get that, we'll have so many combinations for you to choose from that your head will spin!

Hoping to have all that information to you early next week. We'll do pre-orders so that we have an idea of how much to order.

Thanks again for the overwhelming response to the Sketch Fusion book! To see the entire Urban Traveler collection, click here.

And don't forget that our giveaway contest here and on Facebook runs through January 16. You can comment on the January 2 blog post below about the Sketch Fusion book for a chance to win a 24/Seven collection pack and the Sketch Fusion book!

Overwhelmed...and happy!

Thank you! We've overwhelmed with the response, both here and on the Simple Stories blog and on Facebook, to the Sketch Fusion partnership. Reading all the comments has been heartwarming, to say the least. We're so glad that you are embracing this concept!

What we think you'll love about the sketches sums up the whole concept. Since Simple Stories uses the same format of blocks and strips in each of its paper collections, you'll be able to use Sketch Fusion not only with the three new collections, but also with EVERY Simple Stories collection!

We'll be offering every single piece of all three new collections in our online store and in our Springfield store.

Best of all? In our online store we'll be offering a bundle of all three new collection packs and the Sketch Fusion book at a discounted price! For those of you who prefer the Sketch Fusion e-book, there will a separate bundle for that book and the collections packs!

As soon as Simple Stories reveals the third new collection, we'll provide all the bundle details! Check back for all the information.

Here are the two Simple Stories collections revealed so far: 24/Seven and Vintage Bliss. You can see more of both by clicking here.

Sketch Fusion with Simple Stories!

 Scrapbook Generation and Simple Stories.

Two companies, each with the mission of making scrapbooking quick, easy, and creative. Each designing products so that scrapbookers can spend more time making memories instead of recording them.

We're thrilled to announce that Scrapbook Generation and Simple Stories have joined forces to introduce an exclusive idea book, Scrapbook Generation's Sketch Fusion with Simple Stories. The book features all-new sketch blueprints that blend perfectly with the unique format of Simple Stories papers and signature elements for quick and creative scrapbooking.

It's a match made in heaven. Great papers. Great sketches. A fusion of two creative forces, showing just how easy it is to create stunning traditional layouts with the innovative Simple Stories products.

Designed by creative-duo Allison Davis and Debbie Sanders, Scrapbook Generation's Sketch Fusion with Simple Stories showcases 24 fun and functional sketches, along with 24 beautiful full-color layout examples. With exact measurements and positions of photos, papers and elements, Sketch Fusion is a must-have resource for anyone who loves the Simple Stories format.

The layouts and sketches in the book feature not only the three newest collections from Simple Stories (24/Seven and two other great lines that will be announced later this week), but also SN@P, Harvest Lane, Handmade Holidays, and Take A Hike.

Scrapbook Generation's Sketch Fusion with Simple Stories debuts in the Simple Stories booth at the winter CHA in Anaheim, starting January 12.  Retailers can place orders at the show or by contacting stacey@scrapbookgeneration.com.

SG will take pre-orders for Scrapbook Generation's Sketch Fusion with Simple Stories from individuals at a date we'll announce soon. A downloadable Sketch Fusion e-book -- exactly like the print book -- will be available at scrapbookgeneration.com. At this time, we anticipate shipping in early March. Our releases will be timed to coordinate with the release of the new Simple Stories collections.

For more information about the new Simple Stories collections, click here. You can also check them out on Facebook.

Now for some fun. We're giving away one 24/Seven collection pack and one Sketch Fusion book.  Just let us know what you think by posting a comment and you'll be entered to win.  We'll leave comments open until January 16 and announce the lucky winner on January 17!

The second new sketches book from Scrapbook Generation is One on One by Debbie Sanders, and just like the name implies, is a collection of one-page, one-photo designs. Each of the 24 sketches features one uncropped 4x6 or 6x4 photo, with artful layering of papers and embellishments. Also included, a full-color layout example of each sketch. This book has a release date of mid-March, and will also be available in e-book format.

Two more days of super sales!

The four-day "classroom sale" last week was our best and biggest ever. Thanks so much! But we still have SO much left (My Mind's Eye, Christmas, washi tape, stamps, 6x6 pads, layout samples, cards and more) that we're continuing the sale Wednesday and Thursday. Stop by for bargains at 50% off and more!

And don't forget that the new SG Loyalty program starts at 10 am Wednesday! Your purchases start paying off as you earn a "kickback" of at least 10% off everything you buy (excluding gifts cards and kit clubs).

Happy new year!

We hope that 2012 has been a good year for you. As always, we remain extremely aware of the fact that we owe everything to our wonderful customers, both here in Springfield and online. Both groups are special to us!

We're also excited about all the great things taking shape for us in 2013!

Don't miss our new product reveal tomorrow, January 2. We'll be sharing information about the two new products Scrapbook Generation is releasing for winter CHA. One we've talked about previously. The other, well, it includes a partnership that we think you'll agree is heavenly! We're counting down the hours until we can share the news with you!

Stay tuned!
