Welcome to Scrapbook Generation's October blog contest! From now until midnight on Monday, October 19, leave a comment on the following question, and you'll be entered in a random drawing to win a prize package valued at $50. We'll announce the winner on Tuesday, October 20.
Here's the October question...Scrapbook Generation's actual fifth birthday is October 11. Share a memory about SG and/or a birthday wish for the SG gang.
My best birthday memory is the year I got a horse...a real live horse! I'm sure you aren't wishing for a horse for your birthday, but I hope your SG birthday brings as much excitement for you as that memory did for me!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm first to comment! Happy Birthday SG....my scrapbook home when I'm back home! A trip to Springfield isn't complete without a stop to SG!
ReplyDeleteMy first memory is very recent as I just moved to the area (well an hour and half away) last year. But my first scrapapooloza was awesome! And I love to follow the blog as well.
ReplyDeleteMy first memory is the same as Angela's. I went to scrapapooloza and it was awesome. I met all your staff and everyone was so friendly and helpful. I am just getting back into scrapbooking after a while away. Loved the event and plan on attending many more!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday SG. The quality of my page lay-outs and cards are so much better because of you. Wishing you many more years of creativity! Thanks for treating me like family and sharing part of your lives on your blogs.
ReplyDeleteMy first memory of Scrapbook Generations was the very first Scrapapalooza event. It was my first and the first for Scrapbook Generations. Each Scrapapalooza is better than the one before. Happy Birthday Scrapbook Generations. I wish you many more birthdays in the future.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday SG! I just attended my first scrapapalooza in September. It was great!! Love shopping at your store for products I cannot find anywhere else!! Keep up the good work and I hope you have many, many more birthdays!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to the SG gang!!! Here's to MANY more years of scrapbooking memories!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday SG!! My first memory of SG is when I was introduced to Allison Davis and her awesome sketches via the store and Creating keepsakes mag. I thought it was cool to see her pages in the mag and actually know someone in it!

I was so surprised when I walked into SG for the first time and saw Debbie, my high school journalism teacher. I had no idea she was the co-owner of the new store! Happy 5 years in business!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday SG! I wish for you many more years continuing to touch the lives of many and bring us awesome scrapbooking tools, retreats, scrapapaloozas, and classes. Thanks for the memories.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many more!!!!

I went to my first crop at SG a couple of weeks ago and it seems like I've been in the store every other day since then! I've been to 3 card classes and a layout class and I loved them all. SG had helped me get back into my favorite hobby and reminded me why I love it so much! Thanks and Happy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeletePens and papers and stickers and more

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY!
I have only been to Scrapbook Generation once since we live over 5 hrs. away. We found it this summer on our annual trek to Branson & Bass Pro in Springfield. My favorite memory (other than row after row of luscious scrapbook supplies) is when my daughter (also my scrapbooking buddy) asked Karin if ya'll were a new store. When Karin told her you had been there almost five years, my daughter said, "That just makes me mad! I've been walking around Bass Pro for five years and I could have been here!" -------Not saying that Bass Pro isn't a nice store - we just like scrapbook stuff better. Happy Birthday, SG---for our sake, we hope you're around for many more birthdays.
ReplyDeleteMy first experience at SG was walking in and Karin calling me by name. She remembered me from my Mtn. Grove days. She has an awesome memory and what a great person to have as the "face of Scrapbook Generation." I've loved my Saturday mornings with you: making beautiful layouts, learning new techniques and meeting such wonderful people. SG is my go to place for patterned paper and much needed scrapbook therapy. Happy Birthday friends!
ReplyDeleteTime flies by so fast! All the more reason to scrapbook our memories! I can't believe that you have been open for 5 years. Happy Birthday! I remember coming to classes when you first opened. New products that we had never seen in Springfield and the classes were so well laid out by Debbie that they were a "no brainer" to complete. This meant that my sis-in-law and I could chat and scrap! Thanks Karin and Debbie for bringing such quality to our area.
ReplyDeleteTime sure does fly!
ReplyDeleteWe are so blessed to have such a wonderful scrapbook store in our area! Have a Blessed Birthday!!

Reading the comments so far has been so wonderful! Thanks for all the kind words. One of the nicest aspects of being a part of SG is all the great people we have met, and many of you have become much more than "customers." Friends is a much better word!

I remember reading the journaling on an amazing layout about a young women that was pregnant.....it was such a beautiful page. Yes, it was by Allison. I stop by the store when I go to my daughter's in Harrison, AR. You have the best page ideas and love the kits. Happy Birthday and I am so glad I found you.

After the first night of CKC, Jodi & I went to our room and totally re-did the pages we had made based on what we'd learned at our SG sketch classes. ( We were like, "What? No visual triangle?" :)). We'll never look at scrapbooking the same way again! Thanks and happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday SG and many more to come!!!

I've only been to your store once and that was in August of this year. I know I walked around the store for 2 hours looking at layouts & picking out papers. I live 6 hours away and wished I lived closer to attend your classes & crops. I read your blog everyday just to see what you are doing & the new products. You are lucky to work together as a family. I hope you have a Happy Birthday and wish you many more to come.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I wish I could visit your store in person! I enjoy your blog and page ideas online.
ReplyDeleteMelanie
Happy Birthday SG!! I live too far away to visit very often, but have been in once. I have attended 3 retreats with my mom and sister and LOVED them!!! Here's to keeping up the great work you do and helping us share and record our memories!! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
Happy Birthday SG! I live about 2 hours away and only get to visit a couple times a year. I was so excited when the sketches books came out. When the first one came out that really got me hooked. Now anytime I'm in the area I must visit. Your staff is so friendly, talented, and helpful. Looking forward to the crop in a couple of weeks. Last year was the first time I attended and had a blast. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI remember my first visit to Scrapbook Generation was like walking into HEAVEN!!! I had been to other scrapbook stores before, but Scrapbook Gen carried paper lines that were in my style, and that was the hook for me! My favorite times have been the Saturday Sketch classes, crops, and retreats. I love the Sketch books!! Thank you ladies (and Jeremy) for making Scrapbook Gen feel like home-away-from-home!

Happy Birthday, SG - You guys have become dear friends (we even like Jeremy!!) We look forward to frequent Midnight Madness Crops, sketches, classes and Super Savers! We love and appreciate your hard work with retreats, designs, ScrapAPalooza and being able to see you at conventions! We spend a lot of time scouring our calendars for mistakes when we don't have a crop planned for a Friday night! Thanks for giving us a relaxed and comfortable place to gather with friends and enjoy our hobbies for the last 5 years!
ReplyDeleteWe're looking forward to the next 50!
I can't say that I have a specific memory of Scrapbook Generation, but I do know that I am extremely greatful to have found such a wonderful resource for my scrapbooking. Since I live away from Springfield where we have no scrapbook stores or resources, I was so happy to find you all. You are all always ready to give help with whatever I need and offer such great hints and tips. My wish for you all is a very happy birthday with many many more in the future.
ReplyDeleteI think it is awesome that is this economy that your store is still going strong. It is a testimony and how hard work and dedication do pay off, congrats on the big 5!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 5th Birthday ladies!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the friendly and personal feelings that all of you give to your shoppers. It has been a great place to shop, crop, learn, and make new friends at. I look forward to many more years of the same. Congratulations on all of your success.
Happy Birthday!!! I have the monthly kits shipped to me. I just love how easy they are and that everything is there to complete a page in a quick amount of time!!!
ReplyDeleteI was living in Springfield when you opened. I now live in Tulsa. I remember how excited I was when walking into your store and noticing all the new things I had been seeing in the scrapbook magazines. That is what I always appreciated about you guys. I knew I could always count on seeing the new lines at your store. I still come to your store when I visit Springfield. I wish you a great birthday & hope you have a great celebration. I pray the next 5 years will be even better for you!

Happy Birthday SG! My favorite thing at SG is the kits. After I had my son, Zachary I thought I would never be able to scrapbook again. Getting everything out, having time to focus on some layouts, keeping a toddler away from the small pieces, and then cleaning up were all obstacles that caused me to put my hobby on the side burner. Once I became familiar with your kits I realized that I could still do my hobby without all the stresses. Happy Birthday SG and thanks for allowing me time to be a mommy and a scrapper! Congrats and Best of luck! Hilary Austin
