We're totally consumed with preparations for National Scrapbooking Day around here! The photos above are of the two free page kits you'll be choosing from if you spend $25 with us this Saturday. The kits are made from the great new Bo-Bunny paper collections Mama-Razzi and Flower Child.
Hosting a mega-crop, completely rearranging the store, preparing our usual end-of-the-month kits, and National Scrapbooking Day all with a week's time has made us a little more frantic than usual. But we can't wait to share all the new products, free page kits, prizes, sale items, and chocolate buffet with you on Saturday. Hope you can join us!
I lost track of how many photos it took to show you all the new collections that are now available at Scrapbook Generation. While I was working at home the last couple of days, Karin and Stacey and Allison completely rearranged the whole store. Honestly, it looks like we're just opening today with all new merchandise! Not only is the new stuff going to be plentiful for National Scrapbooking Day this Saturday, but the sale stuff will also be plentiful...with so much new, we had to make room by moving out hundreds of papers. Stacey's 30- and 40-cent paper sale bins will be packed full again!

I haven't mentioned our DVD lately, so I thought I would give you an update, since many of you have inquired in the store, by phone, and by email. Believe me, no one is more anxious for the project to be finished than we are! The filming was completed in January, and the sketches and gallery layouts were finished soon after that.
In the meantime, we've been waiting to view the finished product. As of this Monday, we've only seen bits and pieces. We like what we've seen, but as with any major project, there is much fine-tuning and polishing to be done. It's going to take at least one more meeting with the producer/director to convey our instructions about the way the DVD should be formatted for ease of use.
We all apologize for the delay, and hope you understand that no one is more frustrated than we are at this point. It's hard to keep delaying the release date, but this is a situation that is beyond our control. I just wanted you to know that we are working as hard as we can to get the DVD ready for sale.

Wonderful things are awaiting you when you stop by Scrapbook Generation this Saturday to help us celebrate National Scrapbooking Day. One of them is pictured above. Allison Davis will be teaching this free mini-class all day long. You'll make a cute grass fringe, and also learn how to use the Perfect Pearls pigment powders to enhance stamped images. Stacey Atchley will also be teaching a free mini-class, and we'll try to show you a photo of that project later in the week. No registration is needed, just drop by and make a couple of creative projects! WARNING: To get to the mini-class area, you'll have to walk past our yummy chocolate buffet!

Our first-ever Scrapmania is over, and we had a wonderful time at the Windermere Conference Center near Lake of the Ozarks this weekend. There were scrapbookers from all directions...Tulsa, Columbia, Jefferson City, Rolla, Bolivar, Lebanon, Marshfield, Camdenton, Springfield, and more.
There were a few differences from our Scrap-a-Palooza event here in Springfield. Instead of a live camera during Allison's big-screen demonstrations, we had filmed those before the event. We had a minor technical glitch using a system new to us, but soon had it worked out. Then because we had more table space, we were able to let people sit down while we did the free mini-classes, and that was a nice change. And I was certainly relieved and pleased with the hearty and delicious lunch and dinner that we had catered in for the event.
Although we didn't quite reach my attendance goal, we had a really nice-sized group for our first solo venture into the world of mega-crops. Doing everything ourselves made me very appreciative of all the details that Chris Louzader from Midwest Family Broadcasting Group takes care of at our joint event here in Springfield!
For those of you who can't get enough of mega-crops, the next Scrap-a-Palooza here in Springfield is June 26. Registration is now open, with a link on our website to the Midwest Family Broadcast site. (Payment for Scrap-a-Palooza goes to the radio station.)
The next Scrapmania at Windermere is October 9. Registration is now open on the Scrapbook Generation website. We're also going to offer tee-shirts for Scrapmania! Check the website for pricing details when you register. (Payment for Scrapmania goes to SG.)

As I've said before, I'm in love with red, white and blue. I've mentioned my red, white and blue shag carpet before, but I'm not sure if I've shared about my flag colored bell-bottoms in the late 60s. Luckily, no photos exist of that fashion adventure!
We R Memory Keepers has a wonderful patriotic collection that arrived at Scrapbook Generation today, and I'll forgive them for replacing white with a creamy tan! It's a large collection with lots of embellishments, plus paper and cardstock pads and those unbelievable 99-cent clear stamp sets!
SCRAPMANIA info:
• Just wanted to let you know that the doors will open at 8:30 Saturday morning at the Wilderness Creek Auditorium at Windermere. Keep driving past the registration building and just follow the signs. It's near the far edge of the property. If you see a white trailer that says "EnergyWise," you've found the right spot! (Scrapper dudes Jeremy and Don have started a new business, and we managed to talk them into loaning us their new rig to haul everything in!)
• I can't wait until Friday! Karin is the only one who has seen all 50 of the new paper collections, and I'm looking forward to checking out everything as we're organizing the Scrapmania store.
• We've had a few more people sign up today, and it's still not too late if you want to join us! Registration ends at 2 pm on Friday.

Congratulations to two Jennifers for winning our "1,000 fan" contest on Facebook! The local winner is Jennifer Pierce of Springfield, and the long-distance winner is Jennifer Richardson of Washington, D.C. They were picked at random from all the great comments left on the Scrapbook Generation Facebook fan page. Great prize packages will soon be theirs!
I kept picking up on common themes that ran through what everyone was wishing for. So many people want an area dedicated solely to scrapbooking. The ones who already have an area want it to be well-organized. And so many of us simply want more time to scrapbook.
We appreciated so much all the nice things that were said about Scrapbook Generation. I'm going to print them out -- and guess what -- put them in a scrapbook!
At the rate we're going, I think we'll get to 2,000 fans much more quickly than it took to get to 1,000!

Again, I'm honored to share the work of the members of Scrapbook Generation's Designers Challenge Club. We meet the third Thursday evening of the month to share projects we've made from a $15 packet of papers and embellishments. This past month, we used SEI double-sided papers with foil accents, matching chipboard embellishments, stickers, die-cuts, and a card-sized paper pad. Here are the projects from our March packets.
