Our first-ever Scrapmania is over, and we had a wonderful time at the Windermere Conference Center near Lake of the Ozarks this weekend. There were scrapbookers from all directions...Tulsa, Columbia, Jefferson City, Rolla, Bolivar, Lebanon, Marshfield, Camdenton, Springfield, and more.
There were a few differences from our Scrap-a-Palooza event here in Springfield. Instead of a live camera during Allison's big-screen demonstrations, we had filmed those before the event. We had a minor technical glitch using a system new to us, but soon had it worked out. Then because we had more table space, we were able to let people sit down while we did the free mini-classes, and that was a nice change. And I was certainly relieved and pleased with the hearty and delicious lunch and dinner that we had catered in for the event.
Although we didn't quite reach my attendance goal, we had a really nice-sized group for our first solo venture into the world of mega-crops. Doing everything ourselves made me very appreciative of all the details that Chris Louzader from Midwest Family Broadcasting Group takes care of at our joint event here in Springfield!
For those of you who can't get enough of mega-crops, the next Scrap-a-Palooza here in Springfield is June 26. Registration is now open, with a link on our website to the Midwest Family Broadcast site. (Payment for Scrap-a-Palooza goes to the radio station.)
The next Scrapmania at Windermere is October 9. Registration is now open on the Scrapbook Generation website. We're also going to offer tee-shirts for Scrapmania! Check the website for pricing details when you register. (Payment for Scrapmania goes to SG.)
It looks like such a fun event, I wish I had been there! I have a question about October: does that mean that you guys won't have a booth in KC at the CK Convention? I missed you guys last year, in fact the whole weekend, because I got my dates mixed up and planned a trip to Disneyworld that included that weekend. This year I made sure not to do that, and was REALLY looking forward to seeing you guys... :)
ReplyDeleteAmy, I'm sorry to say that we won't be at any of the CK conventions this year. During the past year, we've had some interesting requests and contacts and suggestions, and we'll be heading down a different pathway starting this summer. Sounds kind of mysterious, but we're going to get NSD over with this weekend, then you can watch for a big announcement from the gang at SG. (Maybe you could plan a trip to one of our mega-crops or retreats!) -- Debbie
