It's time for the November blog contest!

We have so much going on today that if Karin hadn't reminded me, I would have forgotten that today is the day I'm supposed to announce the question for the November blog contest!

For the chance to win a prize package valued at $50, leave a comment answering the following question.

"We've just announced that we're moving to a new location that will give us an additional 2,000 square feet of space. What could we do with this extra space that will make Scrapbook Generation the "perfect" scrapbooking store, in your eyes?"

  1. An area that is always set up and ready to demonstrate new products. Maybe with a make & take that changes each time a new product comes in.

  2. Have a space set aside for crops and continue to have midnight madness crops. Or, all day crops that start earlier in the day than they do now. Get vending machines for drinks and snacks if it isn't too expensive. I like Erin's make and take idea too!

  3. A classroom!! With future class projects on display all the time and new stuff to "play with" before purchasing. (like Glimmer mist and Glimmer Glam so we can see the difference)

  4. More crafting room is going to be awesome!

Well, I think it is already the perfect scrapbooking store. The bigger classroom is a plus and I always go straight to the new area so you need to keep that and with new products(I can't wait)they will need a special place. The classes(examples)close to the register or front door is a good thing to remind us about them. I also think keeping related themes/items together as you have helps us shop better. I just can't wait!---Christine Rantz

  6. A bigger crop/class area is a must and I think just generally if you have more space for more product that would be awesome!

I too think an area where all the latest and greatest is on display and a project or 2 showing how to use the new stuff--make and take. I need to "do" to learn, so this would help me a lot.

  9. I hate to say this but a man space...I can't tell you how many times my Dh comes to the scrapbook store and waits in the car (Mainly because I have to travel a longs ways to a LLS). Imagine, if he could come inside and watch tv, read some man magazines, have a soda and rest.

  11. Congrats! I think a kiddie area and husband parking is a great plan! I will be coming to visit in Jan! and I hate it when my husband follows me around but maybe he can shop next store...

I would love to see that entry hall as a gallery of your fantastic layouts. This is one of my favorite things about your store...the layouts are awesome.

I know your going to have a ton of new product which is awesome, but how about a teensy-weensy little corner for kiddos that they could "play" in or watch TV, etc because I know I'm gonna need time to wander through without worrying about them getting bored and they could sit and/or bring a toy to play with quietly. As for us adults..playing with new product is always fun!

More display of your layouts and cards (I love that part of your store). If you give me an idea of what to do with a paperline I will probably buy some of it.

A larger cropping/classroom area. Not for a lot more people, but so each one can have a bit more room.

Use the rest of the extra space for all the new goodies you are forever finding, and (as was mentioned many times) display more of your own creations.

Congratulations on this new adventure! :o)

  16. Examples of how to use any new product, and being able to try it ourselves, is always helpful for we scrapbookers, and helps sell the products, too!! Can't wait to see the new store!!!

like the idea of products and tools to try before buying them.
Lots of crop room, not sure about kiddo corner unless you have a room as this doesn't work, toys everywhere, believe me I know.

  18. I think Scrapbook Generation is already the perfect scrapbbok store, but having more room will just make it more awesome! Having more room to move around in will make shopping even more enjoyable.

  19. More albums in all sizes, shapes and mediums.

  20. Gosh I don;t know what else should be added. The only thing I dislike about your store is the small classroom space, thats changing so way cool.

Hmm maybe a projector and computer so some teachers that use computers to teach can display things for everyone in the group.

  21. I think your store is already great...but I always enjoy coming in there to see the projects on display..so maybe more area for project display, and ideas or kits for project/make and take items with the newest products in the store

  22. I'm looking forward to the bigger classroom space!

  23. This is very exciting news!! I'm happy for you. I think being able to have private parties would be fun... Also, it might be fun to have a photo booth and/or a printer/kiosk to print photos during crops.

I love Tim Holtz designs. So hopefully you'll continue to get more of his mdse.

    Congratulations and Good Luck!

I'm with Melanie S. a "man" area would be great, but I would expand it just a bit and make a "kid" friendly area, even maybe have scraps that are leftover from classes where the kids could draw and be creative while we shop. We drive an hour since we have no local store and by the time we get there the kids just want to get out of the car and sit in comfortable chairs instead of car seats, they hate that the first place we go is the SS and they have to sit in the car for a bit longer.

I am looking forward to more papers. I agree with others and please keep the new arrivals area. That makes it so easy to go to the new stuff. That kiddie idea is great as well. I can't wait for the bigger classroom so we don't have to rush through our sketch sessions.

A bigger area so that we can come there and just work on things--lay them out without taking everyone's space. "Stealing a little from 2 stores I went to in Omaha"--they had several of the cutouts--had them on the wall with numbers, and then you could come in and use them to cut out what you needed. The only catch--in one it was just that you had to buy the paper there and the other was a $10 yearly fee to come in as often you wanted. I would love to see more of the examples and ideas. Maybe you could borrow from some of the individuals who who take the classes and put up the work for a month.

Most everyone wants larger class space, and I do too, but what i'd really like to see is more tools, albums and storage solutions for sale. There are certain storage solutions that I've been trying to find everywhere to no avail. If you guys had space for more of that it would be great!

I love your store just the way it is, like so many others have already stated.

    Possible ideas ...
I would love to see an instant photo printing kiosk so you could print onsite regular 4x6 sizes and enlargments or smaller photos... alot of your layouts use smaller ones and it would be nice to print them there and finish up the pages. Also a printing station for doing journaling onsite would be fabulous. Perhaps after the demonstration, you could have another area for those that would like to stay longer and completely finish the pages.

I know this next comment is in opposition to others that have little ones( and I'm a mother of two myself), but I really enjoy that the store is more adult themed (retreat from the kids for me) and if you did consider a child area that it would be a separate room where the children could be contained behind a closed door as to not damage product or the atmosphere. ;-)

I'm excited about the larger classroom space. Things I have enjoyed in other places are a photo kiosk and a computer/printer available to print journaling or titles (there was a per page fee for the printing).

  32. I am glad that you are expanding and will have more classroom space. You all are already doing an awesome job in how you run and market your store. You have a lot of classes for reasonable prices which helps us be able to participate. I also like the Designer club that you do. Some of the things I thought of have already been mentioned like a man space with comfy chairs and displays of your work. The only new suggestion that I can think of is to maybe prepare some special kits, kind of like what you do for the Designer club where you put together a variety of products for a good price and include a couple of your sketches as inspiration.

YOU ROCK! Thanks for all your hard work and for your continued inspiration for your customers!!

I am excited about your move. I like seen the papers and embellishments together along with a layout made out of the supplies. I'm a sucker and will spend way more than I should when I see it displayed that way.

  34. I would like to see a COPY STATION, where we could copy our 12x12 LO's onto photo paper if we are making copies for other family members, with the added feature of being able to print at additional smaller sizes (9x9 or 8x8 or 6x6). If it would also accept electronic media, that would definitely be a bonus!!

  35. I would love to be able to reserve a crop space during the week, not just during the Friday night crops. Just a place I could come bring my scrapbook stuff (while my kids are both in preschool one day a week) and work for several hours. I know I would end up buying stuff while I'm there, and I would pay an hourly fee to be there. I would really love this!!

  36. I think your store is already amazing and if more space means more product and cropping space, it will be perfect! If you just run out of ideas to fill up all that space, you can put me in a bedroom so I can live there.
