We're so glad you're joining us for Scrapbook Generation's first ever blog hop, organized by Ruth Bonser, one of our scrapbooking friends from Australia. We have almost 30 bloggers participating, and they'll each be sharing a layout made from one of SG's sketches.
The bloggers will be letting you know where the sketch they used is available: one of SG's books, one of the downloads, or from sister site Sketch Support. All of the SG sketch products can be purchased in our online store -- click here to shop. And don't forget that we also provide a free sketch to download each month!
We'll start things off here at SG with a layout from me, Debbie Sanders.
This is what I love about our sketches...freedom. Freedom to make them what you want them to be. Freedom to concentrate on your story instead of measurements and positions. Freedom to pick out the papers you love and the photos you love and know -- without a doubt -- that when you've cut and adhered and trimmed and inked, the final product will be something you'll be proud of. Always.
Some of you may recognize this sketch. It's an Allison Davis creation available in a Halloween bundle of sketches, quotes, titles, and embellishment patterns in our online store by clicking here. (I highly recommend any of her seasonal bundles -- they are packed full of goodies and offered for an amazing price.)
I loved what Allison did with the witches hats. But here's where the fun comes in! Why can't those three large cone-shaped pieces be birthday hats, like my layout? Or Christmas trees, or megaphones, or whatever you want them to be?!
To try to make my birthday hats stand out from the background even more, I used a heart border punch to create a zigzag border for each hat. If you look closely, you can see the hearts are turned upside down. And because I wanted to focus on three photos only, I left off three smaller photos that the sketch showed.
It's been so much fun sharing my layout with you. I know I need to do that more often! We're so grateful to Ruth for this great idea of blogging and hopping once every quarter! If you want to join the list of bloggers for next time, let Ruth know. She can be contacted at this address: ruth.bonser@gmail.com.
As for the June blog hop, leave a comment on this blog and on each involved, and one lucky winner will get to choose a sketch bundle from SG's online store. The winner will be drawn on June 10, so you have a week to leave a comment.
Ruth Bonser is next up in the blog hop. You'll find her here: http://scrapmachine.com/
