August Timeless Treasures class

Shirley Hall has created a gorgeous layout for her Timeless Treasures class this Thursday. Beautiful, glitzy flowers in several sizes are very eye-catching, and in addition to that, there is a sparkly die-cut border across the bottom of the layout that is really striking!

The class is held at 2 pm on Thursday, August 16, and the fee is $15. To register, just call 417-886-0440.

Debbie on KOLR-10 today

I'm going to be on KOLR-10's Live @4 show today demonstrating baby layouts. I think I'm on near the end of the show -- probably about 4:45ish. My biggest problem is figuring out what to wear!

When we've been on before, it's been at 2 in the morning, well, not quite that early, but close. We'll see how good I can do when I'm actually awake!

Hope you can tune in. I'll take your critiques later!

Special sale for a special reason

This past week, our mail included one of those puffy, overstuffed envelopes that usually contain a bunch of legal stuff that you need an interpreter to understand. However, we knew what this wad of papers meant, and it was stamped clearly...PAID IN FULL!

A little less than eight years ago, Karin and I made a huge decision and took out a Small Business Administration loan in order to start Scrapbook Generation. We spent the money on fixtures, computers, inventory, and more.

We had 10 years to pay the loan back. There were times in the early years that it was a stretch to make the payment each month. But with your continued support, we're so excited to share with you that we were able to pay the loan back more than two years early! No more payments!

To celebrate, we have a special sale for you all this week (August 6-11).
• 40% off all My Mind's Eye products (papers, embellishments, clear stamps, collection packs, 6x6 pads, and more!)
• 40% off all Christmas items
• 50% off all Doodlebug matching cards and envelopes
• 50% off all Authentique individual sheets of 6x6 paper
• 50% off three styles of cardstock that we've packed in grab bags of 10 assorted sheets each: Tim Holtz cardstock; Core'dinations distressable cardstock; and Bazzill pre-pierced stitching design cardstock
• Ribbon and twine grab bags: buy one, get one free

Thanks so much for helping us make Scrapbook Generation a success story!

August 'Card Party' class, final reveal...

SG's Card Party class for August continues a great concept...three teachers, three cards, three tags, three stations, and three totally different approaches to cardmaking.

Today, we're showing you the card and tag that will be taught by Katrina Hunt.  If you've never tried fringe scissors before, you're in for a treat! Katrina will show you how to easily get cool effects for cards and other projects by using this innovative product.

This is one-third of the projects you'll be making in the class. Amy Roller and Lindsey Amschler's projects are shown in an earlier post.

This Card Party class takes place Thursday, August 9 at 6 pm. The fee is $15. To sign up, call 417-886-0440. This continues to be our most popular class. Hope you can join us!

Can you believe it?

It's time for another Scrap-a-Palooza! The next one is just a little over a month away on September 8, and I just wrapped up the final orders for paper collections. There may be a few stragglers added over the next few weeks, but right now, we'll have 93 new collections ready for you, including all the gorgeous new Halloween, autumn, and Christmas collections.

In a few days, I'll post the names of the groups here on the blog so you can start drooling!

If you aren't already registered for the big event, click here to register with our co-host, Midwest Family Broadcasting.

Special visitor to SG!

Several times in the past, I've mentioned the mega-thread on the Two Peas in a Bucket message board that has helped transform our Super Sketch Club into an international success. On Wednesday, we had the pleasure of meeting Leslie, the Texas gal who started the thread's conversation and in the process, helped make Scrapbook Generation and its products known far beyond the Springfield area!

Leslie started the thread in March of 2011, and it's still going strong more than a year later, with over 155,000 views and 4,153 comments as of this morning. No other conversation on Two Peas even comes close! Other message boards like Creating Keepsakes, Willow Traders, and Scrap Buddies also mention us frequently, but this single thread on Two Peas has taken on a life of its own. We've met many new friends because of it.

This week, Leslie and her mom and young son vacationed in Branson, and took the time to stop by SG on their way home. Leslie is like all the other Peas we've met in person -- very nice, easy to talk to, pleasant, and fun! It was really a treat for us to get to meet her and tell her in "real life" how much we appreciated what her post has done for our business.

She's very modest about it all, and I know she didn't foresee what has happened because we didn't either, but it HAS happened, and we're so grateful! Thanks, Leslie, for making time on your vacation to stop by and meet us!

Leslie and her mom and son.

The Peas can rest assured that Leslie got to meet The Hoff. We've been taking good care of him since the retreats!
