New e-book releases coming on April 16:
• Sketches for Scrapbooking: Travel Sketches as an e-book, identical to the print book already available.

• Sketches for Scrapbooking, volume 8, with three options.
-- Option 1: Everything! The 30 original sketches, 30 sketch variations with 5x7s, 30 sketch variations with 8x10s, and 30 color layout examples of the original sketches by Allison Davis and Debbie Sanders;

Sketch Day One for April

Both Allison and Debbie started with identical materials --
the same two sheets of cardstock and the same three patterned papers.
When you attend the class at SG, you'll decide which layout
you prefer and use your materials to make that layout.

LOCAL CUSTOMERS:
We hope you can join us Saturday, April 13 for Saturday sketch sessions by Debbie Sanders and Allison Davis! The layouts above are the choices for April Sketch Day One sessions.

How it works:
• Pre-register for sessions at 10am or 2pm by calling 417-886-0440;
• Bring basic tools and adhesives;
• Receive two free computer sketches;
• Make one double-page layout, your favorite of the two choices;
• Pay for papers used -- the total usually comes to a little over $4.

Options:
• If you want to make both the layouts from a particular Saturday, order a duplicate set of paper when you register by phone or in person. Order must be placed prior to the Saturday class.
• If you want to purchase the embellishment add-on (shown below), you can order it when you register. This embellishment is not used on the layout samples shown above, but is offered for those of you who want to add another level of interest and creativity to your pages. All embellishment add-on orders must be placed prior to the Saturday class.

Kits:
• All kits must be requested before the class activities take place on Saturday.
• The fee for a kit is $5, and is due at the time the request is made.
• If you need the kit shipped to you, the shipping charge is an additional $5.99.
• The best deal for our long-distance customers? Join the monthly Super Sketch Club and get the Super-Saver three layout kit, the Sketch Day One layout kit, and the Sketch Day Two layout kit (materials and sketches for five double-page layouts plus two bonus sketches) for $20 plus $6.99 shipping.

One step closer!

I know I've been a little quiet the last week. There's a reason for that...I've been finishing the last of the layouts for Scrapbook Generation's One on One, our newest sketch book!

The book features 24 one-page sketches and color layouts that each feature one 4x6 photo, either landscape or portrait style. The sketches and layouts range from simple and uncluttered to more detailed and heavily embellished. I tried to create a good mix of sketches that would work for any topic you might want to scrapbook. Can't wait for you to see it!

The book will soon be off to the printer, and we hope to have the finished product ready by the end of April. We don't plan to do pre-orders for this book. When we have it here at SG, we'll start selling it both at the store and online. And of course, One on One will also be available as an e-book!

National Scrapbooking Day Super-Saver sessions:
We'll be making three layouts from a new summer line by one of the most popular manufacturers. (The collection isn't available until later this month, but the company is sending it to us early so that we can get the layouts made to show you -- hopefully next week!) The pages will be bright, cheerful, and perfect for photos of summer activities.

More info about the Super-Saver sessions:
• You'll need to register and pre-pay for sessions at 10, 12:30 or 2:30;
• Cost to make the three layouts at SG is $9;
• If you attend one of the three sessions, you will receive a free set of Thickers alphas, a $5 value;
• One person in each of the three sessions will win a $50 gift card;
• Because of the extra numbers of people who will be involved on NSD, no kits will be available (other than for those people who are members of the Super Sketch Club);
• If you are attending the NSD crop on May 3-4 and want to participate in the Super-Saver, you need to register and pre-pay, but you do not need to choose one of the three session times. We'll have a special session for you in the building next door, with the same gifts and prizes as those that will be given away in the store.

NSD weekend crop -- Friday and Saturday, May 3-4

Location:
SG's former store building, next door to our current location, with seating for 70
(The buildings do not connect. To shop and to take part in other NSD store activities during the crop, you will need to walk down a ramp or down stairs to get to SG.)

$75 fee includes the following:
• 14 hours of cropping on Friday (10 am until midnight) and access to SG store until 11 pm
• 14 hours of cropping on Saturday (10 am until midnight) and access to SG store until 11 pm
• seating will be at half of an eight-foot table or a full six-foot table
• welcome goodie bag -- $25 value
• free SG class kit -- $25 value (materials donated by American Crafts/Crate Paper)
• opportunity to take paid classes with Allison Davis
• snacks and drinks in the crop room
• special door prizes in the crop room
• layout contests in the crop room
• access to electricity and wireless internet

Meals are not included:
• many area restaurants deliver everything from pizza to sandwiches to full meals
• lots of great places (both local and chains) to eat within 5 minutes of SG, including some directly across the street

addresses, and web addresses

Lodging:
• if you want to stay overnight in Springfield, there are many hotels within a short distance of SG
• a Google search for hotels should give you several possibilities, or we'll be happy to help you if you need suggestions

Registration:
• only about 15 of the 70 spots are still available
• only by telephone or in person at SG (no Facebook or blog comment registrations accepted)
• payment in full required at time of registration
