New Allison Davis sketches!
Allison Davis has created a new batch of sketch products. They are available for immediate download in the Scrapbook Generation online store.

February schedule announcement
We
won't be doing the three Saturday sketch-related activities at SG during
February: Super Saver, Sketch Day One, and Sketch Day Two.
This WON'T affect the Super Sketch Club. We'll still make all the layouts, take all the photos, sell extra kits, and advertise the add-ons, etc.
This change ONLY affects those who would come to the store to participate in the sessions.
Lindsey's card class will still be held.
Thanks for understanding that we need some time to deal with the aftermath of our loss. We'll be back on our normal schedule in March.

Thanks for the condolences...
It's been five long days. My grandson Wyatt's visitation is over and the funeral is over. I wanted to thank everyone for all the condolences here and on Facebook, and for all the emails -- they were so abundant that I quit trying to count them at some point. I hope you all know that they were each appreciated.
We had about three hours of driving time each day traveling to his home and back, and I spent part of it thinking. All my adult life, I've feared something happening to one of my girls, and as time went on, my grandchildren. I discovered on Wednesday that it's every bit as bad as you would imagine.
Over the years, I've watched other families in my small community deal with the deaths of children and grandchildren in fires, illnesses, and auto accidents. It's always been gut-wrenching to experience that as a friend, and sometimes as a teacher. I've watched the families go forward, staying strong. But life is never quite the same.
Sometimes, we wish we could hurry life along. We want to know what's on the next page. But I think I'm happy with the way things are. I don't want to know the future.
Four months ago, I'm glad I didn't know that the photos I was taking of him covered in mud after a football game would end up as part of the slide show at his visitation.
Three months ago, I'm glad I didn't know that one of the shirts I was giving him for his sixteenth birthday would be the shirt he was buried in.
Three weeks ago, I'm glad I didn't know that while I was listening to his excitement about spring music contest, I would soon be watching his choir director cry beside his casket.
I realize that not everyone knows my family situation. Like many people, I'm part of a blended family. Sometimes we've been more shaken than stirred, but in the end, it has somehow all smoothed out. I know that what I'm going through is not the same as what my husband Don is going through, because Wyatt was his "real" grandson, or whatever term you can come up with to distinguish relationships by blood from relationships by marriage.
It's not the same, but it's close.
On Thanksgiving, I knew Wyatt was having a hard time with the pain and recovery from his hunting accident. I sent him this text: "I know things are rough for you right now, but it will get better. You have a lot of people who care about you and will be giving thanks today that you are still in their lives. Hang in there! Love you."
I don't know when I'll be able to delete his reply: "Thanks for that. It made me smile. Love you too."

Changes in Saturday plans
The grand opening celebration, sale, and all associated activities set for Saturday, January 25 has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for February or March. Lindsey's card class and the sketch classes will still be held.
Debbie and Don's 16-year-old grandson, Wyatt Hurt, died in his sleep this morning from apparent complications of the gunshot wound to the arm he suffered two months ago while deer hunting. Things seemed to be going well for him and he seemed past the danger zone. He had made it through a painful skin graft three weeks ago, was having successes with physical therapy to recover movement in his fingers, and last week, had been allowed to return to school at Ash Grove.
We know that you understand the change in plans. We'll also be closing SG the day of the funeral. We'll announce that as soon as we know the details.
What a reminder of how fragile and precious life truly is.

LOCAL CUSTOMERS:
We hope you can join us Saturday, January 25 for Saturday sketch sessions by Allison Davis (top layout) and Debbie Sanders (bottom layout).
How it works:
• Pre-register for sessions at 10am or 2pm by calling 417-886-0440;
• Bring basic tools and adhesives;
• Receive two free computer sketches;
• Make one double-page layout, your favorite of the two choices;
• Pay for papers used -- the total usually comes to a little over $4.
Options:
• If you want to make both the layouts from a particular Saturday, order a duplicate set of paper when you register. Order must be placed prior to the Saturday class.
• If you want to purchase the embellishment add-on (shown below), you can order it when you register. (This embellishment is not used on the layout samples shown above, but is offered for those of you who want to add another level of interest and creativity to your pages.) All embellishment add-on orders must be placed prior to the Saturday class.
