March Sketch Day One

LOCAL CUSTOMERS:
Please join us Saturday, March 8 for Saturday sketch sessions by Allison Davis (top layout) and Debbie Sanders (bottom layout).

How it works:
• Pre-register for sessions at 10am or 2pm by calling 417-886-0440 or emailing karin@scrapbookgeneration.com;
• Bring basic tools and adhesives;
• Receive two free computer sketches;
• Make one double-page layout, your favorite of the two choices;
• Pay for papers used -- the total usually comes to a little over $4.

Options:
• To make both layouts, order a duplicate set of paper when you register. Order must be placed prior to the Saturday class.
• To purchase the embellishment add-on (shown below), order it when you register. (This embellishment is not used on the layout samples shown above.) All embellishment add-on orders must be placed prior to the Saturday class.

Kits:
• Purchase kits through SG's online store. (Not available for shipping or pick-up at SG until Monday, March 10.)
• The fee for a kit is $6. Shipping is an additional $6.99.
• The best deal for our long-distance customers? Join the monthly Super Sketch Club and get the Super-Saver three layout kit, the Sketch Day One layout kit, and the Sketch Day Two layout kit (materials and sketches for five double-page layouts plus two bonus sketches -- a $24 value) for $20 plus $6.99 shipping.

SUPER SKETCH CLUB MEMBERS:
Options:
• To occasionally make both layouts, order a duplicate set of paper from SG's online store.
 
• To always make both layouts, enroll in "Super Sketch Club Double Up." For an additional $10 per month, receive a duplicate set of materials for the Sketch Day One and Sketch Day Two portions of the club. (You will be able to make both Allison layouts and both Debbie layouts.)

• You can order an embellishment that coordinates with the layouts. The embellishment this week is a $4.99 pack of ephemera die-cuts. This embellishment is not used on the layout samples. (Add-on does not increase your shipping fee!)

Allison's new blog and new SS sketch!

Today, we're happy to be able to share Allison's new blog with you! She's moved from Blogger to Typepad, has a cute new logo, and is kicking things off with a 10-photo "life documented" sketch for Simple Stories.

For those of you new to this, Allison is part of the Simple Stories Life Documented design team, and each month she creates a two-page sketch showing how to combine a regular layout with a pocket-page layout with style. Allison explains this on her blog, and also does a blog post for Simple Stories, explaining her design process with a layout from the sketch and lots of close-up detail photos.

Renovation...back on track!

The store may be a bit of a hot mess today, but it's a happy hot mess! We've finally been able to get back to our renovation plans! A truck-load of 8-foot tall wall units from a store that recently closed in the St. Louis area was delivered late last night. Some are already in place, others will have to wait until our "labor force," AKA Stacey's hubby Jeremy, can complete the job.

The classroom windows have already been covered with displays. This was a huge wasted space! Others will go in the front of the store where the K & Company displays lined the windows, and some will go in the front corner near our wall of Thickers.

Overall, we'll gain a huge amount of display space, and be able to make some dedicated areas for both cardmaking and pocket-page scrapbooking.

It may not be pretty right now, but it's going to be gorgeous soon! More display area means more products we can bring to the Springfield area!
