Great sign-up for our pre-Palooza reception!

We already have almost 50 people signed up for our Friday evening, "pre-Palooza reception" on Friday, June 22. About 15 of them will also be cropping in our classroom Friday during the day!

The reception will feature light snacks here at the store from 5-7 pm on Friday evening, June 22, for those of you who are traveling long (or short!) distances to attend Scrap-a-Palooza #11 on Saturday, June 23. (If you and your group will be getting to Springfield earlier than 5 pm, feel free to drop by any time after 10 am and spend the day cropping in our classroom for free. Please let us know in advance so we can plan ahead!)

We'll have goodie bags for those of you who are registered for the reception, and we'll also award special prizes to those who have traveled the longest distance to attend our eleventh Scrap-a-Palooza. So that we know how many goodie bags and snacks to prepare, please register by calling 417-886-0440 or sending an email to debbie@scrapbookgeneration.com.

Creating Keepsakes message board...

When I can't sleep, I usually turn the computer back on and read through the latest comments on several scrapbooking message boards. Imagine my surprise when I saw this on the Creating Keepsakes forum, plus several photos of the interior of SG.

Here's what our visitor had to say: "We made the trip to Scrapbook Generation today! :) It was AWESOME! It's like a huge LSS! Loved it!"

To make it even more fun, a few days before her visit she gave away a prize to the person who guessed correctly where she was going. It didn't take long for there to be a winner!

UPDATE: One of Heather's friends was kind enough to let us know that she was a finalist in the CK teen contest last year. That's a wonderful accomplishment! 

Allison Davis sketch layout for Saturday

We'll be making the layout above in the Allison Davis free sketch sessions this Saturday. Your cost to make this layout? About $4. An awesome deal!

June 'Card Party' class, final part!

SG's Card Party class for June continues a great concept...three teachers, three cards, three tags, three stations, and three totally different approaches to cardmaking.

Today, we're showing you the card and tag that will be taught by Katrina Hunt.  Chevrons are so popular right now, and the card really shows them off. In addition, Katrina will be showing you an easy way to make the circular "frames" featured on the tag.

This is one-third of the projects you'll be making in the class. Amy Roller and Lindsey Amschler's projects are shown in an earlier post.

This Card Party class takes place Thursday, June 14 at 6 pm. The fee is $15. To sign up, call 417-886-0440. This continues to be our most popular class. Only a few spots remain!

Pre-Palooza reception for out-of-town guests

This gathering of out-of-town guests the night before Scrap-a-Palooza has turned into a new tradition for Scrapbook Generation. We're starting right now to get people registered for our informal party, and hope to have a full house!

Scrap-a-Palooza is June 23!

We hope you can join us at Scrap-a-Palooza #11 -- set for Saturday, June 23 at Remington's Event Center here in Springfield. Our crowds range from 250 to almost 300 people at each event, and it's a day filled with the joy of scrapbooking.

Karin and Stacey and Allison and I are busy getting everything ready for shopping and classes. Allison is planning four gorgeous paid classes, and we'll preview those here in the next couple of weeks. And for the first time, we're also planning on offering rewards for those of you who shop with us during the day. Should make the day even more fun!

We're also planning a full slate of free mini-classes and demos throughout the day. Nikki Sivils of Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker will be doing a couple of the free classes. Katrina Hunt and Lindsey Amschler will also be doing free classes and demos, so you're in for a real treat, and it's all included in your registration fee.

We partner with Chris Louzader and Midwest Family Broadcasting to put on this spectacular cropping gala. Chris and MFB receive your registration fee, and they take care of the building set-up and the food and drinks.

Scrap-a-Palooza shopping!

We've been working on our list of paper collections that will debut at Scrap-a-Palooza on Saturday, June 23, and as usual, it's going to be an over-the-top shopping experience. October retreats in Branson...

Both weekends are officially full, and we're currently taking names on waiting lists.

It's been a crazy morning around here, with Stacey holed up in the office trying to take information as quickly as she could. I know some of you tried calling over three or four hours before you got through, so we appreciate your patience.

Because of the huge amount of interest in our final retreats, we made a change to allow a few more people to attend each weekend. We'll be moving our store to the room we usually have the classes in, which has allowed us to add 10 more people to each weekend. It will still be convenient to shop, and we'll get to have a few more friends to "cruise" with!

It will be October before we know it!
