This morning, we're sharing the "before" photos with you. Last night, Jeremy and Stacey moved these new fixtures in place, and we're working today to fill them, and also reorganizing some areas of the store. If things go well, I'll show you what these areas look like later today!

Sketch Day Two for March...

LOCAL CUSTOMERS:
Please join us Saturday, March 15 for Saturday sketch sessions by Allison Davis (top layout) and Debbie Sanders (bottom layout).

How it works:
• Pre-register for sessions at 10am or 2pm by calling 417-886-0440 or emailing karin@scrapbookgeneration.com;
• Bring basic tools and adhesives;
• Receive two free computer sketches;
• Make one double-page layout, your favorite of the two choices;
• Pay for papers used -- the total usually comes to a little over $4.

Options:
• To make both layouts, order a duplicate set of paper when you register. Order must be placed prior to the Saturday class.
• To purchase the embellishment add-on (shown below), order it when you register. (This embellishment is not used on the layout samples shown above.) All embellishment add-on orders must be placed prior to the Saturday class.

Kits:
• Purchase kits through SG's online store. (Not available for shipping or pick-up at SG until Monday, March 17.)
• The fee for a kit is $6. Shipping is an additional $6.99.
• The best deal for our long-distance customers? Join the monthly Super Sketch Club and get the Super-Saver three layout kit, the Sketch Day One layout kit, and the Sketch Day Two layout kit (materials and sketches for five double-page layouts plus two bonus sketches -- a $24 value) for $20 plus $6.99 shipping.

Work in progress...

We are slowly getting the new displays in place and stocked. The K & Company shelving in the window area is gone, and in that place, six huge new units that provide SO much more room for products.

The plan at this point is to use this area for pocket-page style scrapbooking products. There are dedicated areas for different brands that produce these items, including My Mind's Eye, Echo Park, We R Memory Keepers, American Crafts, and Simple Stories. We even have room to hang the page protectors so it's easy to see all the different styles!

We'll have at least two more areas where the new displays will add room. We've already placed several that cover the classroom windows, and still to go, we'll be removing the second checkout area, which we've only needed during huge events, and transforming that corner into an area for cardmaking and small embellishments. Getting to use that area on a daily basis will be a much better use of the space!

We are all amazed at how much better the store looks already, even partially finished. Can't wait for everyone to see the completed renovation!

Allison's new blog and new SS sketch!

Today, we're happy to be able to share Allison's new blog with you! She's moved from Blogger to Typepad, has a cute new logo, and is kicking things off with a 10-photo "life documented" sketch for Simple Stories.

For those of you new to this, Allison is part of the Simple Stories Life Documented design team, and each month she creates a two-page sketch showing how to combine a regular layout with a pocket-page layout with style. Allison explains this on her blog, and also does a blog post for Simple Stories, explaining her design process with a layout from the sketch and lots of close-up detail photos.
