Here's a reminder about special hours this week:
• Monday, Dec. 30 -- regular hours, open 10 am - 6 pm;
• Tuesday, Dec. 31 -- holiday hours, open 10 am - 2 pm;
• Wednesday, Jan. 1 -- closed.
Website progress:
The new website is almost ready to go. Stacey has literally been working around the clock to try to get the thousands of products loaded into the new site, and we have come to the point where we know that not everything will be entered in time for our self-imposed deadline of January 1. We wanted to have the online store fully-stocked the first time it's made public, but we're going to to have to go with partially-stocked with more to come each day. The new store is going to have to be a work-in-progress for a while!
Magazine progress:
We're still on target to launch Scrapbook Generation's CREATE, a free digital magazine, on Monday, January 13. So many people have worked hard to make this first (huge!) issue a success, including our own CREATE team, and the Fancy Pants design team, led by owner Jodi Sanford. The magazine will contain hundreds of layouts and cards and tags, and inspiration galore!
Magazine question for the February issue:
Each month, we'll have a question for
you to answer. We'll select as many responses as possible to feature in the February issue of CREATE.
• What style of scrapbooker are you...events (generally covering a
special activity or event with large amounts of photos) or moments
(generally telling a specific story with a small amount of photos)? Be
sure to include why you choose one style over the
other! For your answer to be published, also include your first and last
name, and your city and state (or province). We reserve the right to edit your answer for length.
• Send your email answers to karin@scrapbookgeneration.com, with "February CREATE question" in the subject line.
• Your deadline is December 31.
Submissions call for February issue:
Your submissions (based on the three sketches in this post) are due by Monday, January 6. All the details about how to submit are in the blog post. We look forward to seeing your take on SG single-layout, double-layout, and card sketches!

Spotted on Facebook!
A Springfield teacher shared a photo of Christmas gifts from her students on Facebook yesterday, and we couldn't help but notice the SG gift card shining in the middle of all the goodies. Someone will be paying us a visit sometime soon, we suspect!

December's Sketch Day Two layouts...
LOCAL CUSTOMERS:
We hope you can join us Saturday, December 21 for Saturday sketch sessions
by Allison Davis (top layout) and Debbie Sanders (bottom layout).
How it works:
• Pre-register for sessions at 10am or 2pm by calling 417-886-0440;
• Bring basic tools and adhesives;
• Receive two free computer sketches;
• Make one double-page layout, your favorite of the two choices;
• Pay for papers used -- the total usually comes to a little over $4.

• If you want to make both the layouts from a particular Saturday, order a duplicate set of paper when you register. Order must be placed prior to the Saturday class.
• If you want to purchase the embellishment add-on (shown below), you can order it when you register. (This embellishment is not used on the layout samples shown above, but is offered for those of you who want to add another level of interest and creativity to your pages.) All embellishment add-on orders must be placed prior to the Saturday class.
Kits:
• Purchase at scrapbookgeneration.com. (Not available for shipping or pick-up at SG until Monday, December 23.)
• The fee for a kit is $6, and is due at the time the request is made.
• If you need the kit shipped to you, the shipping charge is an additional $5.99.
• The best deal for our long-distance customers? Join the monthly Super Sketch Club and get the Super-Saver three layout kit, the Sketch Day One layout kit, and the Sketch Day Two layout kit (materials and sketches for five double-page layouts plus two bonus sketches -- a $24 value) for $20 plus $6.99 shipping.

February "reader question" for Create
We want YOU to be involved in
"Scrapbook Generation's CREATE." Each month, we'll have a question for
you to answer. We'll select as many responses as possible to feature in the February issue of CREATE.
The question for the February issue is...
• What style of scrapbooker are you...events (generally covering a special activity or event with large amounts of photos) or moments (generally telling a specific story with a small amount of photos)? Be sure to include why you choose one style over the other! For your answer to be published, also include your first and last name, and your city and state (or province). We reserve the right to edit your answer for length.
• Send your email answers to karin@scrapbookgeneration.com, with "February CREATE question" in the subject line.

Submission call for February issue of Create
Scrapbook Generation’s CREATE is announcing the call for readers gallery submissions for the February issue. CREATE is a free digital download
magazine that will launch in January in conjunction with SG’s expanded
online store.
CREATE will center around sketches and how to use them to best advantage, but will also feature other paper-crafting topics and articles. Best of all, we'll be bringing you inspiration from the top manufacturer's design teams every month as the team members show what they can do with the very latest paper collections and SG sketches. The first issue is projected to contain 180-200 pages!
Starting with the March 2014 issue, readers gallery submissions will be based on the four sketches featured in the magazine. January’s sketches will be used for the March gallery, February’s for the April gallery, and so on.
For the first two magazines, we’ve chosen other SG sketches to be used, and today, we’re sharing the sketches for the February 2014 readers gallery. Choices are single-page layout, double-page layout, or greeting card. All three sketches were designed by Allison Davis, well-known for her inspiring style, and her ability to shine the spotlight on photos and journaling.
The single-page sketch for February's readers gallery...
Download the free single-page sketch above (including dimensions and placements) by clicking here. Create a scrapbook layout using the sketch, then submit it to SG.

The card sketch for February's readers gallery...

How to submit for the February 2014 issue of CREATE:
• Submissions should be sent to submissions@scrapbookgeneration.com.
• Be sure to have FEBRUARY READERS GALLERY as the subject of the email.
• Submissions must be based on one of the three sketches above.
• An individual may submit more than one project, but each project must be sent in a separate email.
• All files should be under 1MB.
• Include your name and address.
• If your submission is chosen for publication, we will contact you with information about sending a second photo meeting more specific requirements, plus a supply list.
• The call for the February 2014 issue ends January 6, 2014.
We're so excited to see how your style merges with SG sketches!

Closer and closer!
The new website is getting closer and closer to being ready for you to see. Stacey is on a mission to get all the old and new items entered in the store as quickly as possible. Yesterday she managed to get 1939 items completed!
But there is much to go! A ton of new items have just arrived for the online store, including the following;
• a full line of We R Memory Keepers tools and gadgets;
• all the colorful coordinating basics by Doodlebug;
• full lines of inks by Colorbox/Clearsnap, Hero Arts, Prima, and Tim Holtz;
• lots of acrylic stamps;
• miscellaneous tools;
• lots of "generic" items like jewels, enamel dots, twine, buttons, flowers, wood veneers, and metal embellishments;
• the full line of Memory Thread;
• the full line of Reminisce travel stickers;
• an assortment of mini-albums;
• lots of Disney papers and embellishments;
• embossing powders;
• lots of templates, masks, and stencils;
• an assortment of military products;
• over 70 styles of Thickers;
• full lines of Stickles and Zazz glitter glues;
• glitter cardstock and corrugated cardstock;
• pens and markers;
• and more!
We can't say for sure when this will be ready to go -- and no one is more anxious to get it finished than we are -- but it will be soon.
