October/November newsletter went in the mail yesterday...
Most of you should be getting your October/November newsletter in the mail today or tomorrow. In addition to the calendar of activities for the next couple of months, we've also given more details about our gigantic birthday celebration coming up on Saturday, November 6.

We have some great classes planned for you, including vintage classes with Graphic 45 Design Team member Tammy Roberts, and a repeat weekend visit of guest teacher Tammy Tutterow, a member of the Tim Holtz Design Team.

Twenty-five new collections out on the shelves!

It's hard to post photos on the blog at home when you leave the photo card at the store! As we got paper collections out on the shelves today, we took photos each time so that I could do a lovely blog post tonight. Oops! For the time being, we'll all have to be content with a list of the new groups that are ready for sale at SG. It was a long day, but we accomplished a lot!

The 25 new paper collections that are ready and waiting...

From Remington's to Scrapbook Generation...
I don't know what your plans are for this week, but here at SG, our priority is finding a home for those 82 paper collections that debuted at Scrap-a-Palooza last Saturday. The reality of the situation is that they can't all go out at once...we'd need a building at least twice as large (and about a thousand more paper trays)! Right now, we're concentrating on making sure that we put out all the Halloween groups, all the fall groups, and a good assortment of everything else, including Christmas.

By Saturday, SG will look like we've had a complete change in inventory! And the fun will last for weeks and weeks...that's how much new stuff we have on hand.

This evening, I'll post photos here of the groups that we were able to find homes for today.

October 2nd Super-Saver Scrapbooking sessions are packed with value...

Here's a look at the three layouts we'll be making Saturday, October 2 in the Super-Saver Scrapbooking sessions at Scrapbook Generation. The materials include nine sheets of double-sided papers, two die-cut papers, two sheets of letter stickers, and a set of over 50 glitter die-cuts by Crate Paper. Wow! As always, your cost to make these three layouts at SG is an amazing $9. Give us a call to register and pre-pay. Sessions are held at 10, 11:30, 1 and 2:30.

If you can't attend and would like us to make you a kit, the fee is $10 and is due at the time you request the kit.

Note to Super-Sketch Club members: Yes, materials for these three layouts will be included in your October kit!

We'll also be celebrating World Cardmaking Day on October 2!
In addition to the Super-Saver sessions, we have another exciting activity planned for Saturday, Oct. 2. Please join us for World Cardmaking Day at Scrapbook Generation. This is your special invitation to stop by Saturday and make four beautiful cards. For free! We'll have a "card bar" set up and you can go from station to station to make the cards. We'll provide everything, even the adhesives!

Sessions are held at 10, 11, noon, 1, 2, and 3. Even though this is a free activity, please call to register for one of the time slots so we'll know how many people to prepare for.

Be sure to bring your camera to Scrap-a-Palooza Saturday!
We have a new contest planned that involves a few good photographs...and everyone there can enter. There will be five categories for you to enter your photos of Scrap-a-Palooza fun in...on the Scrapbook Generation Facebook fan page!

You'll receive the categories and the simple posting rules at Palooza. We'll be giving away 25 great prizes -- five in each category. Some will be random winners, others will be based on the number of "likes" that photos receive.

You'll get all the details in your printed materials at Palooza. See you Saturday!
Waiting for the reveal of the 'Palooza Curse...'
Karin and Stacey and I had a productive day yesterday. Everything is entered into our system and priced. Some of the new products are already boxed up and ready to load in our trailer. We do still have a couple of shipments coming in today, but nothing major. Allison has been working on her demos and displays and classes. Today we'll be working on the 250 goodie bags and page kits, plus the free 12x12 layout class for everyone! Tomorrow we'll be at Remington's getting everything set up for Saturday.

And then there's what I've started calling The Palooza Curse. January's Scrap-a-Palooza was interesting, to say the least. The day of set-up, Stacey came down with a nasty 24-hour bug. The day of Palooza, I had it. We were totally out of commission and the rest of the family had to keep things going.

June's Scrap-a-Palooza was also memorable. We did all our set-up on Friday, as normal. On my way back from Remington's to Scrapbook Generation, an elderly man pulled out and hit me in the side. No injuries luckily, but my car was pretty much ruined.

So, here we are ready for September's Palooza. I'm hoping that 2010 has already thrown all the craziness at us that it can muster up!

Yes, we are getting a little Palooza-silly!

And these are just the boxes that have come in the last two days! Karin doesn't usually allow this level of untidiness, but we literally have boxes from floor to ceiling. Can't wait for Saturday when you can see what was in them!
Last minute craziness before Scrap-a-Palooza this Saturday...
As if we're not already a little goofy, we've really stretching ourselves to the limit this week, and I'll readily admit that it's mainly (okay, totally) my fault. I did get a little carried away ordering stuff for Scrap-a-Palooza. With 82 new paper collections (over 1,000 new individual papers!) arriving over the past few weeks -- and some still arriving today and Thursday -- there's a lot to be done.

There are also lots of fun new products besides papers and matching embellishments, like a huge amount of new edger punches by Fiskars, EK Success, and Martha Stewart. Allison is doing one of her big-screen demos on them, and my favorites of the new ones are "chains," which punch both sides and leave a connected strip of flowers, circles, stars, scallops, etc., instead of just having the design on one side. I love them!

We'll also have the long-awaited Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze by Tattered Angels, in lots and lots of colors. There's also a huge new supply of clear acrylic stamps, templates, and other fun goodies like butterfly embellishments from Jenni Bowlin and metal embellishments from Making Memories. And our supply of the newest Prima flowers and jeweled swirls and shapes is absolutely huge, and so pretty! We'll also have lots of new goodies from Maya Road, including chipboard albums and lots of fun trinkets and pins for you vintage fans.

A new addition to the festivities is a paid card class that Stacey will be teaching, and Allison has three layout classes that you can enroll for. The awesome local Design Team from Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker will be at Palooza again teaching the three free mini-classes, and she's using her newest collections, which are so cute, and that will also be available for you to purchase.

I haven't talked to Chris Louzader from the radio station for a few days because she's been out of town, but I'm sure I'll get an updated number from her today. There are still a few spots left, but I just don't know how many. If you've never been to a Scrap-a-Palooza, you don't know what you are missing. There's nothing quite like it! Great food, great shopping, great free stuff, great classes, great demos, and just an overall great atmosphere. People always say how much fun it is to be around others who love papercrafting, and how much inspiration they go home with. We're so proud to be a part of bringing such an event to the scrapbookers in the Springfield area!
