'Sketch Support' is back!

A couple of weeks ago, I took a break from working on our two newest books, grabbed a couple of my Mansfield scrapbooking buddies, and headed to St. Louis for a weekend retreat. My project for the weekend was working on photos from SG's 13 retreats -- which seems slightly crazy -- working on photos of retreats at a retreat!

The layout above was made using one of my all-time favorites from Allison's Sketch Support sketches. I love the grid area on the left with stitching. Allison's sketch shows small stars, and she's also made the layout with nine tiny cameras -- so cute! So that I could use the photos I wanted, I changed the photo arrangement slightly, and to showcase the witch paper I used one larger strip at the bottom instead of several smaller ones. That's why I love sketches -- find one you love, follow it exactly, or alter it to fit your needs.

Sketch Support is a fantastic site that Allison started a few years ago. She posted double-page sketches, single-page sketches, card sketches, and "add-on" sketches. In addition, she worked with a creative team and they designed projects from the sketches. It was a huge undertaking, and although Allison stopped adding new sketches a few months ago, the site was left up so that the sketches and ideas could still be used.

When Allison tried to renew the domain name recently, she discovered that because the site had such high traffic, the group selling the web address had raised the price from $10 to $8,000. Stacey and I tried to purchase the address as well, with the same result. Needless to say, we refused to pay that, and Sketch Support became unavailable.

Now, Allison has been able to save the day by taking Sketch Support back to its original web address -- sketchsupport.blogspot.com. All the original material, including hundreds of examples of layouts and cards, plus Allison's incredible sketches, is still available, or soon will be. There are a few kinks and it's still a work in progress, but she is getting everything back in working order as quickly as possible.

We're so glad to have Sketch Support back so that our new customers can get an idea of what Scrapbook Generation sketches are like, and so that everyone has access to that resource again.

Click here to go to Sketch Support. And don't forget to bookmark the site with its new address!
